					<title>Give It To The Lord</title>
					<link>http://dovebrothersquartet.com/songspiration.cfm?feature=40798&amp;postid=28023</link>
					<description>Every year I ask the Lord to give me songs for my quartet to sing and record. I ask that God would bless with songs that will carry a strong Biblical message as well as an ear appealing lyric. I also think of who might be singing the song in my group as I am writing to make sure that the song will fit the person I am writing it for. After our recordings are finished I begin to pray that God may be able to use these songs in another singing group such as The Dove Brothers.

When I began to write &amp;ldquo;Give It To the Lord&amp;rdquo; I was wanting to end up with a good song for my bass singer. I began thinking of all the problems we face as Christians and how we try to deal with these issues. I was sitting in church at Wednesday night bible study and my pastor was speaking on this topic when he made the statement that we just simply need to give it to the Lord. Naturally, I had my pen in hand and my song writing note book in my lap. I began to think of the fact that the very first time we &amp;ldquo;give it to the Lord&amp;rdquo; is when we get saved. We give our sin to the Lord because we trust that He can handle it and that He is able to forgive us. How much more can we trust Him with our day to day trials and problems?

The thoughts snow balled from there and after about fifteen to twenty minutes, the first draft was complete. I give God all the glory for these songs. I am excited to think that a high caliber group such as The Dove Brothers was moved enough by the song to record it. &lt;a target=&quot;_new&quot; href=&quot;http://www.souldoutquartet.com&quot;&gt;www.souldoutquartet.com

					<title>Face To Face</title>
					<link>http://dovebrothersquartet.com/songspiration.cfm?feature=40798&amp;postid=25625</link>
					<description>
Face To Face With Grace came from an idea Kim White
had concerning her dealings with the death of her
father. One has to be born again to know what the
song means. There is a point somewhere amidst the
devastation when we&apos;re propped up by God&apos;s grace.
Otherwise, we&apos;d fall &amp;amp; never get up. It kinda makes
you wonder how people outside of the family of God
survive under similar circumstances. I never actually
spoke to Kim about it. And even though the
information came second hand through her husband
Chris, I knew exactly what she was feeling.

I watched my father&apos;s earthly house of this tabernacle
dissolve from cancer for 11 years ago. The
deterioration lasted a year. It was devastating not
only for my family to watch, but for him to watch us
as well. Just before he passed, as the eldest of his
five children, I whispered to him that we would be OK.
To this day it&apos;s still day to day &amp;amp; I miss him
terribly. But God&apos;s grace is as faithful as it was
then &amp;amp; it&apos;s still OK.

					<title>I Can Pray</title>
					<link>http://dovebrothersquartet.com/songspiration.cfm?feature=40798&amp;postid=21316</link>
					<description>First, I&apos;ll start by telling you a little bit about myself. I live in Middletown Virginia and I attend the church my dad pastor&apos;s, Lighthouse Full Gospel Church located in Stephens City, Virginia. I was raised in a loving,Christian home with two siblings, my older brother Brent and the youngest, my sister Bethany.
I&apos;m twenty-six years old, I have a beautiful wife Rhonda and we have two beautiful daughter&apos;s, Brittany who&apos;s five and Natalyn, two.

I was attending a Nursing Home Services, run by Bro. Nathan Mcdonald, who attends my church. As I looked at the elderly people, some just barely hanging on, I thought &amp;quot; Lord these people don&apos;t have a purpose or reason to live, there&apos;s just nothing they can do. Why don&apos;t you just take them home.?&amp;quot; And I felt like the Lord spoke to my Heart and said &amp;quot; They can still Pray:&amp;quot;

The thought burned in my heart and mind, until one night I couldn&apos;t sleep, at twelve in the morning sitting on my Mom&apos;s piano the words and the melody came immediately to me.
Just a word to fellow writer&apos;s, when God has message he wants to get out, there is no rest for the messenger until he does his part to relay God&apos;s message. I called my mother who was in Oklahoma at the time, she said it sounded great but it was twelve in the morning and she was tired. Not to be deterred, I made another call, and woke up my cousin, Ryan. Same response. Several days later I persuaded my cousin-in-law, Kara, (who&apos;s a great pianist) to put my melody into action.

Several service&apos;s later I did something I rarely do. I asked to sing a song. As I began to sing the message, God gave me &amp;quot;I Can Pray&amp;quot; . The power of God immediately filled the House. I knew then this message needed to be spread through out the world, but I didn&apos;t know how to spread the message having never published a song. That&apos;s when God laid a burden on Christine Fitzl (a prayer warrior in our church) to help me publish the song. (she didn&apos;t know what she was doing either.)
But remember what I said about God wanting to get His message out, He Didn&apos;t need either one of us. Some how we got the demo to I Can Pray to Crossroads Publishing Company. Greg Bentley heard the song and called me and told me that this was the message for the hour and they were excited about publishing my song.

A short while later Chris White of Crossroads approached the Dove Brother&apos;s at the very end of there recording session of &amp;quot;Never The Same&amp;quot;. According to Jerry Martin the power of God filled the studio to where he couldn&apos;t even continue singing. At that point they decided to record the song.

The rest is History... Before I go I&apos;d like to thank the Lord for using me to spread his message. I&apos;d also like to thank my parents who lived a Godly life in front of me. My wife who has been constant support, I love you Rhonda. I&apos;d also like to thank Scotty Mcnutt, who had such faith in my song, he offered to pay for my demo and did. I&apos;d also like to think Greg Bentley,Crossroads, and the Dove Brother&apos;s for having faith in my song. God Bless!

Sincerely,

					<description>I heard Ronnie Milsap do this song. His cut of the song is called You Don&amp;rsquo;t Know My Love.&amp;nbsp; I re-wrote some of the lyrics and changed it to You Don&amp;rsquo;t Know Gods Love.&amp;nbsp; I didn&amp;rsquo;t think the writers would let me but they emailed back and gave us the ok to do it. I won&amp;rsquo;t get the credit for it, but that&amp;rsquo;s ok.&amp;nbsp; All I care about is the message .&amp;nbsp; This is our first single on the new recording called &amp;quot;Life&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp;

					<title>Miracle Of Faith</title>
					<link>http://dovebrothersquartet.com/songspiration.cfm?feature=40798&amp;postid=13463</link>
					<description>Hello friends:
This is a new column about how I come to write songs and the stories behind them. I will try to include other writers songs as well from time to time. I was really reluctant to start this but between my wife and Jerry Martin, our illustrious tenor singer, I conceded. So with that said, I hope you enjoy my first story.

It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining during the midweek and it was time to go back on the road. I was living in Nashville at the time and commuting to North Carolina. I was getting ready to leave when I realized that I still had to get my stage clothes out of the cleaners. The bad thing was that the cleaners would be closed in about five minutes. Luckily, it was just around the corner from where I lived. Anyway, I went barreling down the steps of the house and out the door so fast that I tripped and tried to regain some balance at the same time. As I stumbled to the asphalt, I shielded my face with my right hand. This may not seem to be any big deal seeing how my hands are my livelihood and I am &amp;quot;pleasantly plump&amp;quot;, it wasn&apos;t one of my finer moments.

McCray said it looked like a big fat pork chop when it started to swell up. The pain was pretty intense so I did take a few aspirins to try to cope with it. The first night we played the induction ceremony in Sevierville, Tennessee for Bill Shaw who was with the Blackwood Brothers Quartet. I prayed that night and played while trying to smile through the pain. Everybody kept asking me how I could play with that big old fat pork chop! Ha! Ha!

The next night we were with Greater Vision in Pennsylvania at a big church and I prayed and played like I had no pain at all and despite how big my hand was. I played my heart out as the Lord was blessing the people. We came off stage and Rodney Griffin looked at me and asked me how did I play so fearless with that big old giant of a hand that had to hurt like the dickens? Without hesitation I said that it&apos;s just as much a miracle to play through the pain as it is for the Lord to take it away instantaneously. I told McCray we have to write this song from those words before Rodney thought of it. Thus, the song &amp;quot;Miracle Of Faith&amp;quot; was born.

The bible says to &amp;quot;endure hardships like a good soldier&amp;quot; and &amp;quot;count it all joy&amp;quot; in those times. I pray this song will speak to you and let you know we live by faith and without faith it&apos;s impossible to please the Lord and no matter what we go through, we can do all things through Christ who give us the strength. Philippians 4:13

That&apos;s the miracle of faith!</description>
